EOTD

Nars Dogon (EOTD)

Released with the Nars Summer 2011 collection Dogon really is the stand out piece. Infamous for unusual shade pairings Nars have really hit the nail on the head with this one. A gorgeous duochrome taupe paired with a deep, sooty black this is one duo I know I will rely heavily on for smoky eyes on a night out.

From in-store swatching I’ve noticed some Nars duo’s can be hit and miss when it comes to pigmentation, and as I mentioned earlier some shade pairings are a little odd but I have no faults with Dogon! The taupe shade is buttery soft and easily buildable, I could wear this as an all over lid colour with a lil touch of liner for day to day. I think the black is the blackest shadow I’ve ever used! I literally pressed the pad of my finger lightly to cover my whole crease, I would purchase this duo for the black alone it’s incredible.

Swatched over NYX eyeshadow base to show the true colours.
In the pan the taupe looks a bit ‘blah’ but on the eye it shimmers and transforms into this amazing pink/green/dusky grey taupe, my picture doesn’t really do it justice …

No.7 Autumn EOTD

I’m really impressed with the new LE No.7 palette, the colours are very pigmented and easily blendable. I made this eye using every colour apart from the blue, using my ELF shader brush and my finger to blend (shock horror!)

The purple looks amazing when foiled, I’m going to try it out as a liner.
All shadows applied dry using Too Faced Shadow Insurance primer as a base.
Also used Sleek Eye Drama mascara, and a kajal liner.
See my original post on the No.7 Autumn collection here.

MAC Crazy Cool – Simple EOTD

So glad I picked this up, I knew I was onto a winner as it is a Veluxe Pearl – shimmery, but not overly and very pigmented. I have worn this every since I bought it and it fits so nicely with alot of combinations, as I have cool toned skin I feel I can pull this off as an all over lid colour pretty easily =)
A simple EOTD, MAC Crazy Cool, Purple Haze in the crease and a touch of Shroom to highlight. Schimples!

I’m loving lilac eyes! Also had a compliment on the tube from a bunch of city chicks =D

Falsies Action

Carrying on from my last post, I had a little play with my falsies today and have to say I think I’m now a little addicted! I was always too shy to use false lashes, not only was they expensive they seemed quite fiddly and I thought I would never be able to put them on properly! I have never worn falsies before, so I have nothing to compare these too nor do I have any technique tips I just literally stuck them on lol.
I trimmed 2 clumps of lashes off eash strip in the inner sections as I found it looked really fake and the strip wouldn’t lay on my eye properly, plus there was no hairs for the lashes to cling so they strip kept on kind of springing up =0/. No big deal though, I often hear you should trim the lashes to shape your eye =). I found application quite easy, a bit fiddly but not as bad as I thought! I am really pleased with the results, I love the way they look and wish I had started using falsies sooner. I would not hesitate in buying from Eyelashes Direct again, once I’ve …

MAC Fresh Green Mix EOTD

As soon as I saw this on the MAC website I KNEW I had to have it! Bio Green is one of my favourite shades ever, which is funny as having blue eyes MUAs are always telling me to stay away from greens but I love a bright eye and I think olive greens compliment my eyes perfectly.
The colours apply soft as butter and the swirly side would look amazing worn as a smokey eye with a touch more black. I am also going to try the block green on it’s own as an eyeliner, the colour payoff when foiled is even more vibrant… I could rave on about this shadow but I’ll let the pics do the talking!

MAC £15.00
Very pleased I picked this up and I can’t wait for the September ‘In The Groove’ collection to pick up aload more mineralize shadows.
Do you own any, what do you think of them?

Welcome to the Candy Shop EOTD

Please excuse the gay title, we all know 50 cent is sooooo ‘04 =P
A quick EOTD using the new Boots 17 ‘Dolly Mixture’ candy coloured eyeshadow trio…

How pretty are the colours! I found them v.easy to work with, silky soft and easy to blend. I know my blending skills suck ass but even I managed to make it look half decent lol
The trio costs just £4.99 and at the moment Boots are running a free gift offer when you spend over £6 on 17 (see previous post). Well worth it IMO.
I’m also on a bit of a ELF kick (hardy ha ha) ATM, since learning some of my HG products are made by companies that test on animals I’ve had a bit of a re-think, and am no longer purchasing products that I know to be tested on animals… But thats a story for another day!
So for this look, I curled my lashes with my ELF curler, primed my eyes with my ELF (£1.50 range, not studio) primer, applied the shadows with my ELF shadow brush, a quick slick of the ELF liquid liner in plum and a few strokes of my ELF mineral infused mascara and …

MAC Birds & Berries (Liberty Of London) EOTD

Soooooooooooooooooooooo heres another EOTD. Enjoy.

I used the white shadow in the ELF Everyday Eyes Beauty Encyclopedia in the inner coner swept onyo the lower lashline, Boots 17 Viva Diva over the whole lid & onto the lower lashline and MAC Birds & Berries blended into the crease =)
Finished off with ELF liquid liner, Bourjois Volume Clubbing mascara & a funky kajal Rambo gave me on the waterline & tightline.

The Boots 17 eyeshadow hasn’t really got that much colour payoff, not compared to the MAC shadow anyway. I had to use my finger to pack on the colour as my brush just wasn’t getting anything =0/

Did you pick up anything from the LOL collection?

Going against the beauty grain with MAC Bio Green e/s

I’m in love! With an eyeshadow! I have worn this every day since I’ve bought it, I absolutely adore it. Now I was always advised not to wear green eye makeup as you may have noticed my eyes are blue… Very blue. I was told any green/aqua/blue eye shadows would go against my colourings and generally just look a lil odd, and I have abided by this beauty rule pretty much forever. I have rarely gone out of my colour comfort zone favouring bronze/gold/browns which make my eyes appear bluer and brighter, and admittedly, they do but since I began blogging I’ve been going colour crazy! Going against the grain with turquoise liner and cobalt eye shadows has made me finally realise that ANY eye color can pull off ANY colour eyeshadow, if worn the right way.
So Bio Green is a colour I would never have looked twice at normally, but after playing with my free Collection 2000 palette I really liked the yellow/green eye I created and wanted a better quality shadow for doing similar looks. I saw it on http://www.cosmetics-skincare.co.uk for the bargain price of £6.99 and promptly added it to my basket. It’s a PRO …

‘The Joker’ EOTD

Hi Guys, I’m in the process of putting my blog onto my domain…..! So apologies if I don’t post anything for a few days or if you notice things are a little weird with my blog.

Anyway, just having a play around with my new MAC Bio Green e/s along with my Alice palette… I didn’t realise these are the ‘Joker’ from Batman colours ’til I had finished =D

MAC Bio Green inner v, ‘Underland’ from the Alice palette on the outer v (I did get my v’s right, right?), Jabberwockey on upper lashine and outer lower lashline and ‘Half Baked’ on inner lower lashline.

Just a quickie, v.busy today!

Remember my giveaway ends THIS Sunday peeps!

Another Alice eye! Queen & Curiouser

Urgh, I feel mega ropey! Note to self, don’t mix Mojito’s, Corona & cheap rose with Jaegerbombs =0/

Chubby’s old pal is leaving for Australia (to live!) today so we had a little goodbye drink up last night! Since I’m becoming a bit more confident with all this blending malarky I went for quite a colourful eye look. It was meant to compliment my purple emo shirt but in true girlie fashion I ditched the shirt at last min and went for something completely different lol.

I used Primer Potion applied all over first, ‘White Rabbit’ on the brow bone, ‘Curiouser’ on the lid, ‘Queen’ on the outer v & crease, ‘Flipside’ shadow & pencil on the lower lashline blended into ‘Half Baked’ with L’Oreal Telescopic Mascara & L’oreal Superliner in Carbon Gloss and Zero pencil on my waterlines.

This pics is a lil more ‘colourful’ as it was taken with a flash as I obvs done this at night time.

I love Queen, its such a beautiful purple!

What you think?
