What works for you… Chop & change skincare?

Hi dudes, just wanted to give you a lil update incase you’re wondering why I haven’t been posting as much as usual… Well, I’ve been promoted, woop! Some of you may know I work from home, and contrary to popular belief I don’t just sit on my arse all day on Facebook =). I have really got to knuckle down and I’m so busy at the moment it’s quite hard to hard time to churn out a decent blog post, as a majority of my new role is writing lol. I’m off to Gran Canaria (my boss lives there, booya!) on Wednesday until Monday so will hopefully pick up some goodies in the airport to blog about and I also want to do my Lush Colour Supplement review (I LOVE it) and a few more bits but I just wanted to let everyone know my posts will probobly be 1-2 a week rather from now on but I do still read everyones post on my blogger dashboard!
I’ve also noticed I’ve nearly hit 400 followers, OMG. I really can’t believe it, I’m so chuffed! When I do hit the magical 400 I will hold another giveaway, with the …

Lush Colour Supplement swatches

Hi guys, hope you’re all having a fab weekend! Popped into Lush quickly this morning to grab 2 of the gorgeous mothers day Mum Ballistics =D. I got her Candy Fluff & Sakura (£3.50 each), I hope she likes them! I don’t know if its just me but I keep getting wafts of a 2 day old glass of wine from my Lush bag, and I think Sakura is the culprit… Oh well, she likes a glass of rose!

I also got some samples of the Colour Supplements, heres some swatches to give you a better idea of the shades:

Light Pink

Light Yellow

Dark Pink

Dark Yellow

First thoughts? I really like the feel of these, creamy yet dried to a matte finish. I will wear for a few days and give you a full review =D

Amazing skin for a nicker!

I wasn’t going to rave about this as I couldn’t decide if it was better than my HG Estee Lauder makeup remover… but you know what, it wins on price! This can of goodness was a pound. One pound. One English Pound… From Poundland =D

Its texture is unlike anything I’ve ever used before, it’s like a hair mousse for your face! You simple shake the can, pump a blob on your hand and smooth on your face. Theres no rubbing or scrubbing, the gentle exfoliators hidden in the soft foam do all the work for your. This is marketed as a  ‘pore refining’ mousse and I can really see the difference, I can’t believe this was a pound! A pound! Ok…. Calm down Karleigh. Oh! You also get a whopping 156ml of product for that lavly pound =D.

I love Poundland, theres always these little gems to be found, alot which haven’t even hit chemists before.

On the back of the tin it says:

‘With Olay Pore Refining Mousse, you can experience deep cleansing without the harshness. The velvety foam deeply cleans and gently exfoliates to minimize pore appearance to leave your skin comfortably refined and visably clear. Experience the Soft, …

My Skin Savior! Lush CoalFace Review

It’s big. It’s bad. It’s a tad smelly. It doesn’t take any rubbish! It’s Lush CoalFace facial soap!

I had a really bad breakout a week or so ago, I think it was because of that horrid Maybelline foundation =0/. My skin was a big greasy mess, you know those painful ‘under the skin’ spots that form big lumps? Yuk. I even missed out on a night out because I felt so hideous with my bad skin, even layers of foundation couldn’t make it look better, if anything it highlighted the big mountains on my face!

My Estee Lauder cleanser didn’t seem to help (it’s quite rich) and I didn’t want to keep sloughing at face with scrubs as it was becoming quite sensitive =(. To cheer me up my boyfriend took me on a day out uptown and we had a lil look in Lush. I remembered the reviews for CoalFace being very positive for oily/blemished skin so I picked up a huge chunk! The bar is HUGE! Very good value for money at just £4.15 this will last me ages, even with twice-daily use.

So, I took my makeup off as normal with my EL make up remover and …

Natural Beauty?

Just as I thought, that horrid Maybelline foundation has brought me out in the mother of all break outs! My skin is terrible, and not just on my troubled chin area I even have a big ‘under the skin’ beast under my eye?! Weird. I’ve never had a spot here before. Anyway, I haven’t got any hardcore spot treatments here as since I’ve switched to Estee Lauder my skin has been really good and I haven’t needed any! When my skin is congested, I like to give it a scrub and St Ives Apricot Scrub is the best IMO. I haven’t got any left, and because of the snow theres no way I’m leaving the house on my own… lol. I made my own simple scrub using my Simple face wash mixed with a lil salt, and its actually really good! My skin feels soft and smooth, and it didnt cost a penny. I just simply put my face wash all over my face (mixed with a lil water) then took a handful of table salt and rubbed it gently all over my face then rinsed everything off =D. It all makes me think, are natural beauty products …

The most important thing of all…

…is to take good care of your skin! You can spend hundreds on the best foundation, but it will never look its best unless you take good care of your skin and make it into a fresh, clean palette everyday. Reading through a few fellow bloggers bloggy blogs I noticed up there with ‘lose a few ass pounds’ one of the top new year resolutions was a whole new skincare regime! I have always been pretty good with taking my make up off (i cant go to sleep unless ive washed my face and brushed my teeth!) but ive never have a ‘regime’ as such. I would consider my skin bad as its oily, blotchy and prone to blemishes esp. time of the month! Ive tried alot of face washes, Simple & Dove being my fave chemist brands whilst it has to be said Garnier is possibly the worst I’ve ever used. Now im getting a bit older *22 = eeeeeeeeeeek!* I think its time i got a proper skincare routine inc. an anti-aging cream! As you have probobly guessed im a bit of an Estee Lauder fiend, and I got alot of travel sized goodies whilst purchasing …

Body Basics with Clarins

For alot of women, a pampering session starts with a long hot bath, or a steamy shower. So what better way to start then with a gorgeous array of aromat

herapy inspired goodies. I absolutely adore the Clarins ‘Tonic’ range, comprising of:

Tonic Bath & Shower Concentrate £16.00 200ml
Toning Body Polisher £27.50 200ml
Toning Body Balm £26.50 200ml
Tonic Body Treatment Oil £34.50 100ml

The shower gel foams up lovely, and really spices up your shower. I also use mine for shaving, as it is so soft. Your skin feels instantly softer, and you only need a tiny bit on your shower puff for your whole body. This is another staple in my beauty basket! I follow it up with either the body balm or the oil. The oil feels amazing when used in a massage! I suffer from a mild back problem and maybe its in my head but the aromatherapy aspect really helps me relax. Its also been used for stretchmarks, but with all ‘treatment’ products I havent been using it for long enough to comment on this. I have yet to try the polisher but its on my wish list! If you feel the prices are a little too steep, …
