A Tartan Tale – Haul & Swatches

Interest in this collection has been a bit poor, not many seem to like the packaging – me included! After seeing swatch photos and collection imagery my new found blush obsession definately had me interested in the cheek products especially as I LOVE peach cheeks! I wasn’t too interested in the eyeshadows, especially after MAC blatently lied about the plaid pattern being not just as overspray, but new technology crap that meant it went all the way through to the pan. British Beauty Blogger exposed this to be a porky pie, but my boyfriend said it wasn’t possible anyway and he’s a smart dude.

Anyway, obviously my spending ban has hit the skids (didn’t see that one coming, did ya) I indulged in a little haulage as I’m a MAC fiend and can’t resist the LE colours. Nothing tartan found itself in my basket, not for no reason but I wouldn’t use one of the kits. Here’s what I picked up -

From L-R

Her Blooming Cheek blush £16.50

My Highland Honey blush £16.50

The Faerie Glen lipstick £12.50

Golden Crown eyeshadow £15.00

MAC also threw in a sample, never had one of them before! Prep & Prime Face seems interesting, I’ll probobly end up giving it away though as MAC face products seem to hate me =0/

Her blooming cheek looks gorgeous and I know for a fact I can wear it because my mate at work tried it on me and I didn't look like a clown which is always nice.

If I EVER get some attention at the Selfridges MAC counter, I'll pick it up.

I'm wearing it today, it's nowhere near as harsh as it looks in my swatch =) love it. love everything I got. Harrods is the best place for Mac'in. x

I've seen swatches all over the gaff and I didn't like the look of The Faerie Glen before I saw your swatch. Now I'm tempted to make an effort to walk into a MAC store or concession because it actually looks like quite a nice colour.

All I was going to pick up, at some point, was the green eyeliner from this collection. Nothing else is shouting loud enough…

It's ok…. abit brown on me. I don't know why I do it, I have a MILLION nude shades and only reach for my D&G one. The lustre finish doesn't really float my boat either, I wish I hadn't of got it now =0/

Those liners are supposed to be the best formula ever, the brown one seems to be very popular. They seem to be v.similar to the UD liners though… x

  3. Her Blooming Cheek is fab, I got that too. I also got a Prep & Prime sample – they seem to be really plugging it at the moment!

Yeah I thought it was odd, I've never heard of them giving out samples before =0/

I have to say these really do look beautiful colours – not my sort of thing at all but love the brightness of them, they look like the sort of colours found on an exotic bird of paradise or a butterfly, very lovely. Thankyou. Jan x
